Job Description

  • Sodexo is seeking a General Manager 5 - Food for MedStar Georgetown University Hospital located in Washington, DC. MedStar Georgetown is one of the D.C. area's oldest academic teaching hospitals.
  • We are looking for an experienced leader with a passion for innovation, training, process improvement, and team building. This position will oversee all food services for the 609 licensed hospital, including retail, patient, and catering services.
  • Sodexo offers a range of services to healthcare facilities, including food, nutrition, environmental, facilities management, healthcare technology management, retail, and patient experience services. Employees at our healthcare sites play a crucial role in enhancing patient experience and well-being.

What You'll Do

  • Have oversight of day-to-day operations.
  • Deliver high quality food services including retail, catering and patient meal management operations.
  • Achieve company and client financial targets and goals.
  • Develop and maintain client and customer relationships (comfortable in c-suite settings where communication skills are imperative when serving as top level site management).
  • Develop strategic plans.
  • Ensure HACCP, regulatory and standards compliance.
  • What You Bring

  • A work history demonstrating strong leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • General Manager Food & Nutrition leadership experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience managing in an union environment.
  • Outstanding client relationship skills and strong financial acumen.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service.
  • The ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Proficient in computer skills and report management experience.
  • Key Duties

  • Directs all contract services.
  • Oversees management / administrative team who are responsible for special functions, cash control and payroll.
  • Customer and client satisfaction.
  • Drives growth.Financial management.
  • Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum Management Experience 5 years.
  • Minimum Functional Experience 5 years.
