Pay Information $2,426 per week About The Position Job Title : LTC RN Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : LTC / SNF Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 8H Days Hours per Shift : 8 hours per day Experience : Minimum of 1 year License : Required Certifications : BLS Must-Have : Experience with elderly patients Description : The position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Long-Term Care. The facility is a nursing home with a total of 70 beds, mostly private. The electronic medical record system used is ECS. The patient-to-Nurse ratio is 1 : 20. The patient population primarily consists of individuals with dementia, frailty, and those requiring rehabilitation. Job duties include charting, conducting assessments, charge responsibilities, administering medications, and performing clinical skills such as IVs, catheters, and ostomy care. There are IVs and titratable drips present in this setting. Registered Nurses do not read telemetry strips, as there are no monitoring technicians on this unit. Registered Nurses are not required to attend team conferences for acute inpatient rehabilitation. There is access to physicians after hours. The interdisciplinary team comprises therapists, social workers, dietary staff, activities personnel, and housekeeping. Respiratory Therapy is available on-site 24 / 7. There is an on-site pharmacy with a medication dispensing system. Shifts are scheduled in blocks of 8 hours. Staffing includes 4 nurses and 7 aides during day and evening shifts, and 2 nurses with 3-4 aides during night shifts. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend, and holiday commitments involve being available for at least half of the holidays during the assignment. There is no on-call requirement, but floating between units may be necessary.
