GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES :
Under the direct supervision of a state licensed / certified Administrator / Executive Director, focuses on creating a high quality of life for residents through the planning, preparation, and delivery of effective and entertaining daily activities, special events, and other programs that encourage participation, social interaction, and enjoyment. Performs related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Plan, schedule, prepare, and deliver regular daily resident activities, special events and programs;
- Engage with and encourage residents in activities; tailor to their specific wants / needs with healthy social interactions;
- Inform residents and family members about activity program, options, and schedule;
- Clean, maintain, organize, and purchase activity materials;
- Manage budget;
- Coordinate with internal leadership and partner with other agencies in the delivery of activities inside and outside of community;
- Coordinate transportation of residents to and from events outside of the community;
- Use therapies and techniques to prevent and improve resident behaviors;
- Keep work and resident areas safe, orderly and clear of obstacles;
- Drive company vehicle, transport residents safely to and from activities, assist residents when entering and exiting the vehicle; Maintain safety regulations regarding vehicle lift.

Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age;C.N.A. certificate preferred;Must possess a valid driver’s license;Certifications in First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required;Prior experience as a caregiver preferred, preferably for large groups;Knowledge of resident’s rights, including the right to be free of restraints and abuse;Knowledge of therapies and techniques used to improve resident quality of life;Knowledge and use of safe practices in caregiving, cooking, and cleaning;Ability to work with diverse populations including age, those with mental illness, memory loss diagnosis, and / or physical impairments, and aid in these resident’s ADL’s;Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, residents, and families;Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive data at all times;Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; and to keep daily records;Must have regular, reliable, attendance in performance of essential job functions.OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must pass a criminal background check;This position is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing;Complete ongoing monthly continuing education, following state specific requirements;Punctuality and attendance at scheduled shifts.WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and crawling required;May be required to work irregular hours including nights and weekends;Must lift or move objects weighing up to thirty five (35) pounds unassisted;Regular driving.DISCLAIMER
