Position would require the candidate to be a W2 employee of Donatech.
US Citizenship / Permanent Resident Required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related degree.
- Must have minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Work history that demonstrates some mechanical aptitude and / or other skills relevant to the job duties described.
- Must be able to work on DoD contracts involving explosives within the site BATF license.
- Must qualify to handle explosives under the Fairfield site BATF Explosive Handlers permit.
- Must be able to lift 25lbs
Job Duties (On the job training to be provided) :
Preparing specimens from Class 1.3 explosives for testingPerform acceptance testing of ingredients used in propellants and pyrotechnics; size analysis, moisture content, thermal expansion, density, equivalent weight, moisture content, etc.Performing tests on specimens of Class 1.3 explosives; including tensile strength, density, heat output, and burning ratePerform tests on specimens of small amounts of Class 1.1 or unknown explosivesPerform ignition hazard tests; impact, friction, spark, and heatOrganizing test data and completing test report formsAssist Development Engineers with assemblies of devicesKeeps laboratory supplies readyMaintaining daily logs and equipment record booksKeeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.Marinating a safe, clean, orderly work environmentCompleting regular training in safety and work practices
