Our PowerBuoy® platforms provide clean and reliable electric power and real-time data communications for remote maritime and subsea applications. We also provide WAM-V® unmanned surface vehicles (USV's) and marine robotics services. The Company's headquarters is located in Monroe Township, New Jersey with an additional office in Richmond, California.

The Role :

The Mechanical Engineering Intern will support the engineering team in the mechanical design and analysis of OPT products and systems.

Responsibilities :

• To assist in the Mechanical design and analysis of OPT's products
• Prepare and document design specifications, data collection and analysis.
• Carry out theoretical mechanical / structural analyses.
• Prepare technical reports to document the methodology and results of work performed.
• Assist with departmental documentation and administrative projects.
• Perform other tasks as required.

Qualifications :

Junior or Senior status in a 4-year university pursuing an Engineering degree.

Must be able to work both independently and in a team setting.

Strong organizational and analytical skills.

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience with SolidWorks (or similar CAD design software).

Experience with ANSYS (or similar FE analysis software) a plus.

Must be a U.S. citizen.

Hourly rate is $23.00 and includes the following for eligible employees :
