Function
Designing, break-fix, design work for a structure fiber trunk cable.
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Works directly with vendor / suppliers QTS, Digital Realty, and Data Bank coordinating power and cabling, while defining and procuring copper and fiber.
- Works internally with network and deployment on connectivity requirements.
- Full cabinet deployments : Installation, maintenance and support of data center infrastructure including structured cabling, servers and networking hardware.
- Removal of decommissioned assets and cable cleanup.
- Maintain inventory and update asset management database.
- Adhere to proper cabling and labeling set by client standards
Must Have Technical Skills :
Installation, removal and maintenance of servers, cabling and networking equipment.Experience with fiber optic technologies and structured cabling to include testing and remediation.Ability to logically diagnose hardware faulty hardware components and layer one connectivity issues.Knowledge of data center rack power and connectivity requirements.Knowledge of day-to-day operational support of enterprise data center.Strong communication and analytical skills.Aptitude to quickly learn and adapt to new technology.Be able to lift and move approximately 50 lbs.Flex Skills :
Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, Outlook)Use of ticketing systems such as Jira and ServiceNow.Familiarity with data center infrastructure management tools (DCIM, CMDB).
