Maintenance Worker

Definition
Under general supervision, performs various semi-skilled maintenance and unskilled labor work related to City of Waxahachie streets, right-of-way, or other related areas. Performs a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility. Performs other duties as assigned.
Distinguishing Characteristics
This is the entry-level position in the Maintenance Worker series. Employees within this position are distinguished from the Maintenance Worker II position by the experience and expertise of their duties. This position holds no supervisory responsibility. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction, assistance, or supervision as new or unusual situations arise. They are aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit as appropriate for an entry-level position.

Physical Demands
