KE Camps is the leading provider of summer camps for country clubs nationwide. We partner with over 230 private clubs all over the country to implement traditional-style day camps for elementary-aged children. We are actively seeking a Lifeguard to help oversee our swimming activities.

Camp Lifeguard Qualities

  • Ability to guard the health and well-being of campers while in or around the pool at all times
  • Responsible, Dependable, Level-Headed, Flexible, and Calm in all situations
  • Current certification in lifeguard training or equivalent
  • Current certification in first aid and CPR (advanced certification may be required based on camp location and site of delivery of aquatic program)
  • Prior experience working with children
  • Prior experience in Lifeguarding and / or Swim related instruction, preferred

Camp Lifeguard Responsibilities

  • Supervise and guard all swimming activities at the aquatics facility and ensure that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed
  • Assist Camp Director / Staff with any pool related responsibilities as needed included but not limited to camper swim assessments
  • Warn swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforce pool regulations and water safety policies
  • Direct swimmers out of the pool in hazardous conditions
  • Provide rescues as needed
  • Administer first aid in the event of injury, rescue swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administer CPR and / or artificial respiration, if necessary
  • Evaluate conditions and monitor weather reports for safety and initiate aquatics emergency action plan as required
  • Inspect pool facilities, equipment, and water as well as maintain a clean environment in and around the pool area to ensure that they are safe and useable
  • Complete other duties, as assigned

    • All applicants must have up to date Lifeguard Certifications prior to starting work.

    Our camp is located at Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach, CA. Camp will run Monday-Friday from June 9 through August 1 - staff members must be available to work the full camp season. This lifeguard position has a working schedule of 10 - 15 hours per week or can be paired with a more consistent Camp Counselor role.
