Position Summary
As a key leader, you will define and implement a visionary data strategy that drives business growth, enhances client experiences, and informs strategic decisions. You will align the data platform strategy with the firm's Wealth and Client Advisory, Investment Management, and Finance goals, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions. You will oversee all facets of data governance, architecture, analytics, and the integration of modern technologies like artificial intelligence, and lead the transformation to a cloud-first data architecture. You will establish the vision for our next-generation data warehouse and spearhead the migration of on-premises systems to state-of-the-art cloud solutions. By integrating generative AI capabilities into our data ecosystem, you will drive innovation and contribute to strategic decision-making in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership : Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the firm's wealth and investment management objectives; Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align the data platform vision with organizational goals; Drive innovation in data technologies to support advanced analytics, AI / ML, and real-time decision-making; Create and manage multi-year roadmap to implement data strategy.
- Data Warehouse : Define and implement a modern data warehouse solution to serve as the backbone for enterprise data and analytics; Define data models, governance frameworks, and integration patterns for scalable data operations; Build data warehouse platform to support both structured and unstructured data.
- Team Leadership : Establish and manage a high-performing team of data engineers, architects, and analysts within a matrix organizational structure; Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence; Collaborate with other departments, such as information security, to integrate their requirements into cloud-native database solutions; Provide guidance and supervision to engineering teams, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Stakeholder Engagement : Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, providing insights and guidance on leveraging data as a strategic asset; Ensure effective communication and collaboration across technology, operations, and business teams.
- Data Governance : Establish data governance policies to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements; Implement robust processes for metadata management, data lineage, and access control.
- Cloud Migration : Lead the migration of legacy on-premises systems to cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance; Evaluate and select appropriate supporting cloud technologies to implement the strategy.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Data or Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.10+ years of experience in enterprise data platforms in financial companies, with a proven track record of leading cloud migrations and data warehouse implementations.Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data architectures (e.g., data lakehouses, ETL pipelines).Proficient in both traditional relational database development (e.g., Oracle) and cloud-native databases (e.g., AWS Redshift, Snowflake).Proficiency in data governance frameworks and compliance in a regulated industry.Demonstrated leadership and team-building experience, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional technology teams, including software engineers, solution engineers, infrastructure engineers, and architectsStrong understanding of financial services, particularly in wealth and investment management, is a significant advantage.Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $200,000 - $300,000. Actual salaries will vary based on skills, experience, and qualifications. It may include a discretionary incentive based on individual and company performance. Eligible employees may participate in a 401(k) program with a company profit sharing contribution and benefits.
