About The Position

• Coverage Period : ASAP - Ongoing
• Coverage Type : Clinical + Call
• Shift Schedule : Sun-Sat; 4x10 or 5x8-hr shifts
• Call Schedule :
• 1-2 nights per week & every 3rd weekend
• Rounding Included : Yes; daily on assigned patients
• Duties / Skills :
• Orders / performs diagnostic studies such as, EMG, electrocardiogram, compartment pressure measurements & x-ray examinations.
• IP Rounding, writes orders, assists the Orthopedic surgeon.
• Serves as primary orthopedic call for in the ED & various IP units.
• Proficiency on EMR & ability to work independently.
• Required Procedures :
• Performs digital blocks, regional anesthesia & minor OP surgical procedures : tendon repair, wound closure, wound mgmt, wound debridement, incision & drainage, needle biopsy, percutaneous pinning of fractures, k-wire removal and hardware removal.
• Diagnostic & therapeutic procedures : joint & bursa aspirations, closed reduction of fractures & dislocations, injections of joints, tendons, trigger points & bursa, brace, cast & splint applications.
• Assists in surgery including first assist, deep & superficial tissue closures, application of appliances & any other action delegated by the surgeon.
• EMR : Epic
• Other Info : Site requires 4 hrs of unpaid EPIC training.
