Consumers Energy Rates Analyst

This is a hybrid (virtual / onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday assigned to One Energy Plaza located in Jackson, MI. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).
General Summary of Job Responsibilities
The Rates Analyst is responsible for monitoring and assessing service rates, calculating cost-of-service, and conducting various analyses. Additionally, this role is responsible for developing and maintaining an analysis of utility rate filings for both gas and electric utilities. The incumbent is expected to review utility filings with public utility commissions for requested changes to the rate base and rates for service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Understanding and experience with ratemaking concepts, including revenue requirements, cost of service, rate of return, and regulatory accounting principles. Ability to summarize legal documents. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of accounting and finance principles. Verbal and written communication skills. Experience with Excel and PowerPoint. Experience and proficiency in MS Word.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting with two (2) or more years of experience with rate analyses.
