We are looking for a skilled, highly motivated, and self-driven Manager, Application Development to join our dynamic technology team. Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and guidance to technology teams delivering value to customers using Agile methodologies.
- Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify skill gaps and future development needs of engineers.
- Design and develop engaging and effective training curricula, including onboarding programs for new hires, technical skills training, and leadership programs.
- Utilize various training methods such as online courses, in-person workshops, mentoring, job shadowing, and cross-functional projects.
- Collaborate with engineering managers to align training programs with performance goals and individual development plans.
- Develop assessment tools to measure the effectiveness of training on employee performance.
- Serve as a hands-on technical contributor, providing guidance on best practices for coding, design, and testing.
- Architect, plan, and execute technical solutions with an emphasis on reusability, extensibility, and maintainability.
- Address, resolve, review, and document production incidents.
- Identify metrics and performance bottlenecks for proactive improvement.
- Foster a culture of integrity, trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders at all levels.
- Deliver training programs or oversee delivery by internal / external facilitators.
- Manage logistics for training events (scheduling, venue, materials).
- Track participant progress, provide feedback, and evaluate program effectiveness.
- Collaborate with engineering managers to align training with performance goals.
- Create assessment tools to measure the impact of training on skills and performance.
- Regularly evaluate training programs and gather feedback from participants and stakeholders.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance training effectiveness.
- Develop and manage the budget for the engineering training program.
- Track expenses and ensure cost-effectiveness of training initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including engineering managers and senior leadership.
- Effectively communicate about training programs' goals, progress, and impact.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.5+ years of experience in an engineering role, with at least 2 years in training or development.Strong understanding of engineering principles, practices, and technologies.Experience designing and delivering technical training programs.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.Strong organizational and project management skills.Proficiency in using learning management systems (LMS) and other training technologies.Preferred
Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.Experience with instructional design principles and adult learning theory.Certifications in training and development (e.g., CPTD).Nice to Have
Previous full-stack engineering experience (front-end and back-end).Tech stack experience with Python, Node, Typescript, React.Experience with serverless technologies, particularly AWS Lambda, AWS API Gateway, and AWS EventBridge.Familiarity with SQL (Postgres, SQL Server) and NoSQL (DynamoDb) solutions.Additional Details
The base range for this contract position is $52 - $62 / per hour, depending on experience.
Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered.
