Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 04 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Telemetry position on a night shift, requiring an active AZ or compact RN license and strong telemetry skills. Responsibilities Work in a 48-bed acute care Med / Surg Telemetry unit Patient population includes COVID, respiratory, GI, diabetic, telemetry, TIA, CVA, and general, orthopedic and spinal surgical cases Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 5 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend requirement Unit uses Cerner EMR RN is first to float and may float to East Campus or PCU if qualified Unit uses remote telemetry monitoring; RNs must interpret and sign strips once per shift Uses equipment such as BiPAP, CPAP, high flow oxygen, and provides some breathing treatments RNs are responsible for interpreting rhythm strips and ensuring documentation every shift Testing requirements include passing the Relias Dysrhythmia exam and a sterile technique skills assessment One day of unit-specific orientation is provided Holiday coverage required for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's (combination of days and evenings as assigned) RN is required to wear navy blue scrubs No call or standby required Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility in the past year Must be able to float to other units or campuses as needed Requirements Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg Telemetry RN experience Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; pending certifications not accepted Ability to read and interpret basic telemetry strips required Experience caring for general and orthopedic surgical patients, CVA, and TIA preferred Cerner EMR experience strongly recommended due to limited orientation Must provide a copy of driver's license for consideration Must submit two professional references : one recent supervisor (last 12 months), one supervisor or peer (last 3 years), including dates and rehire eligibility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-617317.
