Job descriptionEducation : Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field from an APA-accredited program (or equivalent recognized doctoral program). Licensure : Must possess a current, active, and unrestricted license to practice psychology independently in at least one US state. You are responsible for ensuring compliance with telehealth laws for any state where you provide services. Experience : Demonstrated post-licensure experience providing psychotherapy and psychological assessment (as applicable). Telehealth Competency : Proficiency in using HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platforms (e.g., Doxy.me, SimplePractice, Zoom for Healthcare) and familiarity with best practices for telehealth. Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems is highly preferred. Legal & Ethical Knowledge : Strong understanding of HIPAA, relevant state laws governing psychological practice and telehealth, and the APA Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct. Insurance : Must maintain adequate professional liability (malpractice) insurance. Skills : Strong verbal and written communication abilities. High level of empathy, professionalism, and cultural competence. Strong organizational skills and reliability. Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning. Status : Independent Contractor (1099). Flexibility : Full or part-time availability, set entirely by you. Work as few or as many hours as you choose (e.g., 3-20+ hours per week). Autonomy : Complete control over your schedule and working hours. Location : Work remotely from any location within the United States where you hold an active license and comply with telehealth regulations. Compensation : Set your own competitive hourly rates based on your expertise and market standards. Direct Payment : Clients pay you directly; Mentalzon does not process payments or take a commission from your session fees. Client Access : Gain visibility and access to potential clients through the Mentalzon platform. Support : Benefit from platform marketing efforts to attract clients and receive technical support for your profile and platform usage. Reputation Building : Opportunity to receive client reviews and build your professional reputation on the platform. Create Your Profile : Register as a professional on Mentalzon, detailing your education, licensure, experience, therapeutic approaches, and specialties. Upload Verification Documents : Submit copies of your doctoral degree, active state license(s), and potentially proof of identity for verification. Verification : Wait for confirmation from the Mentalzon administration team. Set Your Availability : Indicate your working hours and preferred methods of communication (e.g., video conferencing links). Connect with Clients : Receive consultation requests / bookings and coordinate all session details, including fees and payment methods, directly with the client. Ultimate Flexibility : Practice psychology on your terms, from your preferred location (within licensed states). Full Autonomy : You control your schedule, caseload, and fees. Direct Client Relationships : Manage communication and payments directly, fostering a clear and efficient therapeutic relationship. Key Responsibilities :
- Online Therapy : Conduct individual, couples, or family therapy sessions via secure video conferencing (based on your license scope and expertise).
- Clinical Documentation : Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and state-specific requirements.
- Ethical Practice & Confidentiality : Adhere strictly to the APA Code of Ethics, state licensing board regulations, and HIPAA standards to ensure client privacy and data security.
- Client Communication : Respond promptly to client inquiries, schedule sessions, and clearly communicate your therapeutic approach, fees, and practice policies.
- Direct Fee Management : Establish your session rates and manage billing and payments directly with your clients.
