We are seeking talented Locum Nurse Practitioners to perform vital compensation and pension exams and separation health assessments for Veterans. In this role, you will conduct interview-based assessments and physical examinations, assisting our nation's Veterans with compassion and professionalism. The position offers flexible scheduling, competitive hourly rates, and the chance to make a meaningful difference.

Required Skills:

• Nurse Practitioner licensure in New York State
• Proven experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedic surgery
• Strong clinical assessment skills, including range of motion and muscle strength testing
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and follow protocols accurately

Nice to Have Skills:

• Prior experience with compensation and pension examinations
• Familiarity with government healthcare procedures or veteran health services
• Certification in medical assessment or related fields

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Current Nurse Practitioner license in New York
• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in a general medicine setting or similar role
• Experience performing non-treatment exams and assessments

Other Requirements:

• Must own a personal office space for conducting exams in Ithaca and Trumansburg, NY
• Local candidates only; travel expenses included in rates
• Willingness to perform both half-day (4-hour) and full-day (8-hour) shifts on a PRN, ongoing basis
• Ability to complete administrative follow-up work such as reports and addendums (note: not separately compensated)

• Hourly Rate: $402.00 (flat rates per shift, no overtime or holiday pay)
