Experience : Prior education, training, and experience that provides the ability to perform the assigned tasks. Previous Siemens experience is required.
License : Must be registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences.
Certifications : Requires advanced certification in CT.
Must-Have :
Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science.
Successful candidates must become registered within one year of employment and must maintain their registry status and continuing education requirements annually.
All imaging specialists are required to maintain current competency in HCP BLS.
Description :
Conducts procedures and tests using Computerized Tomography (CT) equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.
Verifies patient identification and obtains patient history.
Assists patients and family members that require extra attention and ensures patient understanding and safety whenever possible.
Asks and documents pregnancy status on patients of childbearing age.
Obtains images per protocols and manipulates images according to protocols.
Performs multi-planar and 3D reconstruction of image data.
Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of CT algorithms and selects appropriate window and level settings according to anatomy.
Administers oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients according to protocols.
Establishes intravenous lines and administers IV contrast following safe and proper injection procedures.
Follows correct procedures to determine contrast eligibility and checks appropriate lab values before contrast injection per protocol.
Maintains a thorough understanding of PACS and transmits images to quality control and EMR systems.
Verifies and segments images at the quality control station.
Accesses service tools to verify image transmissions.
Completes, modifies, and / or cancels orders promptly and accurately.
Ensures that all charge information is accurate.
Verifies patient identification and ensures all appropriate demographic information is accurate.
Performs tasks in a timely manner and manages the schedule to create a consistent workflow.
Volunteers to work on challenging tasks and difficult procedures.
Produces quality diagnostic images and reviews patient charts and reports for correlation.
Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
Creates and keeps documentation of incidents as opportunities for improvement.
Precepts new employees and students.
