American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Ortho-Neuro unit, requiring a WV or compact RN license and EPIC experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the 33-bed Ortho-Neuro unit within an acute hospital settingProvide care for orthopedic surgical and neuro-surgical patients, including elective surgeries and fracture cases, as well as general Med / Surg casesTypical patient ratio is 1 : 6Uses EPIC as the electronic medical record system and EPIC experience is required12-hour night shifts with every other weekend scheduledFirst to float to other Med / Surg units and must work within skillset if floated to TeleRemote telemetry is monitored by a separate team; RNs are not required to interpret stripsOrthopedic and neuro-surgical patient care with use of IV fluids and PCA pumps; no titration of drips requiredCharge nurse is available 24 / 7, with night charge taking a full patient assignmentPatient Care Techs provide support for vitals, ADLs, and device careCPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen are managed via respiratory therapyRoyal blue scrubs required, and jackets must be scrub-style in matching colorTravelers are the first to float to other units as neededOne day EPIC orientation, followed by one day unit orientation with a preceptorHoliday coverage may be required depending on staffing needsLocal candidates are not accepted; must live beyond a 50-mile radiusReturning employees must have a 2-year break from any WVU Medicine location before reapplyingTravelers may not work at any WVU facility for more than one year total without a 2-year break\n \n Requirements\n
