Overview
Kadant Johnson is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to develop and improve manufacturing processes that drive safety, quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery. This role works closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Accounting to optimize workflow, reduce costs, and support continuous improvements across the facility.
Responsibilities
- Develop and document manufacturing processes, methods, and standard operational procedures
- Evaluate machining processes, tooling, and machine capabilities to improve throughput, reduce operational bottlenecks, and costs
- Support capital equipment evaluations, cost justifications, and process capability development
- Improve flow, reduce setup times, and eliminate waste using Lean / 5S / CI principles
- Utilize Excel and MRP (Epicor) for capacity planning, data analysis, revisions, and job costing
- Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions to resolve production challenges
- Design / define tooling, fixtures, and inspection methods in collaboration with Quality, CNC, Fabrication, and Product Fulfillment teams

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience in machining, assembly, and / or industrial manufacturing environmentsContinuous improvement and / or Six Sigma experience a plus
