Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) – Travel Nursing Job in Clinton, Maryland

Travel Nurse Job Details

  • Location : Clinton, Maryland 20735 (Washington, D.C. metro area)
  • Assignment Length : 13 weeks
  • Start Date : November 17, 2025
  • End Date : February 16, 2026
  • Hours per Week : 36
  • Shift : Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day : 7 : 00am-7 : 30pm / Night : 7 : 00pm-7 : 30am), 3 shifts per week
  • Call Requirement : 36 hours over 6 weeks (must be on premises within 45 minutes of call)
  • Weekend / Holiday Coverage : Every other weekend / holiday as needed
  • Float Requirement : Required to float to like units (e.g., Mom / Baby)
  • Scrubs Provided
  • Charting : Cerner EMR
  • Estimated Weekly Salary : $1,890 - $2,030

    • Registered Nurse Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience in a hospital setting
  • At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment required
  • High-risk Labor & Delivery experience required
  • Previous charge nurse experience required
  • Valid Compact RN license or Maryland RN license
  • Required certifications : BLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE, AWHONN Intermediate
  • Must register for C-EFM during compliance or within first two weeks of assignment
  • C-EFM through NCC preferred
  • Two supervisor references required
  • Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
  • Ability to float to similar units (Mom / Baby, postpartum) as needed

    • Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients, including high-risk cases
  • Circulate for C-sections and assist with high-risk obstetric deliveries
  • Perform fetal heart monitoring and triage obstetrical patients
  • Recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
  • Serve as preceptor and / or charge nurse as needed
  • Float to Mom / Baby or similar units as required
  • Participate in weekend and holiday coverage as scheduled
  • Respond to on-call requirements within 45 minutes
  • Document patient care using Cerner electronic medical records
