Accounts Payable Clerk

Key Responsibilities :
- Match invoices with purchase orders and verify the accuracy of payment amounts.
- Enter and process invoices in the accounting system while adhering to nonprofit accounting standards.
- Reconcile vendor accounts and promptly address discrepancies.
- Prepare checks, electronic payments, and wire transfers in a timely and efficient manner.
- Organize and maintain accounts payable records, ensuring proper documentation for audits and reporting.
- Assist management with month-end closing tasks and prepare reports on expenses and accounts payable.
- Communicate regularly with vendors and internal teams to resolve payment issues and inquiries.
- Support the implementation of process improvements to optimize efficiency in accounts payable operations.
Requirements :
Prior experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or similar role, preferably in a nonprofit organization.Knowledge of nonprofit fund accounting and experience working with restricted funds (preferred).Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or other ERP systems.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills for working collaboratively with vendors and colleagues.High school diploma required; an associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
