GENERAL SUMMARY
Join the team at Labouré College as an Exam Proctor, where you will play a vital role in upholding academic integrity and supporting student success through professional exam administration. This per-dem, as-needed opportunity is perfect for individuals seeking flexible, supplemental work. Availability on weekdays during the daytime and/or evening hours is required, with increased opportunities during Finals.
Scheduling is based on exam demand, Monday-Friday, as early as 8:00 am and as late as 10:00 pm. Labouré runs three semesters every year: Spring from January-April, Summer from May-August, and Fall from September-December, with a ~2-week break between each semester. During finals (April, August, and December), overall coverage needs increase significantly, but the total hours worked per week cannot exceed 20 for each individual proctor.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Outside of the testing room/Prior to exam shift:
- Interact with Connecteams (phone-based app) to view and claim exam shifts throughout the semester.
- Monitor email regularly to stay updated on exam requests and individual accommodations.
- Confirm proctoring assignments through prompt written communication (email & SMS).
- Review exam instructions from instructors or the Accommodations Coordinator in advance.
- Attend required check-in sessions via Zoom to stay current on testing protocols and compliance standards (1/month, subject to change as needed).
Inside of the testing room/During an exam shift:
- Prepare and organize all materials required for a smooth exam process (i.e., whiteboards, erasers, dry-erase markers, calculators, earplugs if available).
- Establish a quiet, distraction-free testing environment.
- Supervise students throughout the exam, offering calm support while maintaining exam security and integrity.
- Maintain a clean, orderly testing area before and after each session.
- Implement individual accommodations to specific students as needed (e.g., allowing for multiple breaks, turning off the lights when possible, etc.)Proctors will be informed of additional accommodations if they are necessary!
- Document and report any incidents or irregularities immediately to the appropriate college staff (faculty & Access and Accommodations Coordinator).
- Reliable use of Connecteams for scheduling.
- Consistent communication via email and/or SMS to confirm scheduled shifts and updates or changes to said shifts.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent certification.
- Excellent communication skills and a student-centered attitude.
- Ability to work independently and maintain focus in a quiet setting.
- Willingness to support students with simple stress-reducing techniques, if needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher.
- Experience with proctoring or student testing.
- Familiarity with Massachusetts Department of Higher Education policies related to testing.
- Understanding of FERPA and other confidentiality laws protecting student information.
- Understanding of the ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
- Knowledge of ATI testing platform.
