Senior Laboratory Assistant

The Senior Laboratory Assistant is responsible for clinical laboratory duties to include, but not limited to :

• Phlebotomy : Performs venipuncture and capillary procedures on pediatric and adult inpatient and outpatients based on orders in the laboratory information system (LIS) or outpatient requisitions. Including legal collections.
• Data Entry : Orders testing in LIS based on physician orders. Cancels and redraws orders per policy. Documents communication with care team in LIS as required by policy.
• Handles and processes specimens for testing at PRMCE and reference laboratories. Specimens include blood, urine, cultures, and other body fluids.
