Job Summary
The Department Manager oversees daily operations within their assigned department to ensure production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are met. This role is responsible for leading a team, optimizing workflow, and coordinating with other departments to achieve company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and supervise department staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety standards are maintained.
Collaborate with other department managers and company leadership to meet operational goals.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions.
Maintain inventory, equipment, and resources to ensure smooth operations.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Report departmental performance, challenges, and achievements to senior management.
Support hiring, onboarding, and development of team members within the department.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in metal fabrication or stamping.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to read and interpret production reports, blueprints, and work instructions.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
Familiarity with production equipment, metal fabrication, or stamping operations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software for reporting and scheduling.
