Job Overview
The Investment Banking Associate is an intermediate level position responsible for assisting clients in raising funds in the capital markets, as well as in providing corporate finance and strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions and other types of financial transactions.
In this role, you're expected to:
- Understand advanced accounting principles, including mentoring junior colleagues
- Create and diligence complex financial analysis with limited guidance
- Demonstrate excellent project management skills and ability to lead client communications and deal execution
- Build upon and apply comprehensive market/industry/product knowledge towards clients and projects
- Deliver high quality work product, including responsibility over junior colleagues' work
- Work with the client and team on the storyboarding and drafting of client materials
- Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of relevant legal documents and proactively review or confirm relevant clauses
- Drive internal processes and help manage internal requirements
- Raise key questions and concerns and propose potential solutions; make independent decisions as appropriate
- Communicate team conflicts with integrity and credibility and take a leadership role in resolving issues
As a successful candidate, you'd ideally have the following skills and exposure:
- 5-8 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Accountancy, Finance or closely related areas of Business Administration
- Experience in evaluating corporate transactions and structures
- Experience creating financial analyses
- Experience assisting with client/business development
- Demonstrated problem solving, project management and organizational skills
- Communicates professionally and proactively follow-ups with team and clients regarding next steps pertaining to client meetings/projects
- Understands team and client needs; able to translate them into client-ready content and solutions with limited guidance
- Establishes oneself as client's point of contact for requests in the normal course of business
