Job Summary
- The Registered Nurse (RN) - Women's Services provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Women's Services unit, including obstetrics, labor and delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care. The RN utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety in accordance with hospital policies and nursing standards.
Essential Functions
Provides direct patient care in the obstetrics, labor and delivery, postpartum, and nursery unitsDevelops, implements, and evaluates individualized care plans for mothers and infantsMonitors fetal heart tones, vital signs, and patient status throughout labor and postpartumAdministers medications, performs procedures, and assists physicians with exams and deliveriesEducates patients and families on postpartum care, infant care, breastfeeding, and discharge instructionsDocuments all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptlyParticipates in emergency response situations, including neonatal resuscitation and postpartum hemorrhageCollaborates with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and facilitate discharge planningMaintains a safe and clean environment in compliance with infection control standardsParticipates in staff training, competency assessments, and quality improvement initiativesKnowledge / Skills / Abilities / Expectations

Education
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) requiredBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferredLicense / Certification
