The Information Technology Technician position within Children and Youth Services is a professional level position designed to aid and develop the Management Information System within the Agency. Responsibilities include :
Working in close cooperation with the Agency Administrator, Directors of Social Service, Supervisors, and key staff to develop improvements of the Management Information System.Coordinate all hardware, software and application of the CAPS / AFCARS / CWIS Systems as well as any other applications that are utilized in the aagency.. This includes but is not limited to trouble shooting, techinal assitance and resolving any issues that would come about.Working in close cooperation with County Department of Information Services personnel for computer program improvements.Providing training to staff on case management system information. Train new staff on the utilization of the programs.Developing a training manual to be utilized as part of on-going training and reference.Developing policies and procedures relating to computer use within the agency as well as implementing the user acceptance documents to staff and completing incident reports for any issues that would arrise with the programs and or equipment.Conducting system surveys of Agency programs so as to determine the feasibility of computer enhancement.Participation in work measurement, space utilization, work simplification, and manpower utilization studies as they relate to County case management systems and CAPS / CWIS / AFCARS.Assist in implementing program improvements of the agency computer system.Designing forms to be utilized with the system.Attending meetings as necessary to keep management informed of pertinent issues of the computer system.Attend trainings and seminars to maintain updated knowledge of both C&Y specific and general computer technology.Perform related work as required.Physical Job Requirements :
Mobility : Ability : to travel between office locations, client homes, hospitals, and community sites. High Stress Tolerance : Ability to manage crisis situations, interact with individuals in distress, and handle potentially volatile situations.Communication : Frequent verbal and written communication with clients, families, healthcare providers and legal entities.Decision-Making & Problem-Solving : Requires critical thinking to assess client needs, develop care plans, and navigate complex social services.Work Environment Considerations :
Client Homes and Community Settings : May encounter unsanitary conditions, pets, smoke, or environmental hazards.Potential Safety Risks : Interactions with individuals experiencing severe mental illness, substance use disorders, or behavioral crisis.Flexible Schedule : May require evening, weekend, or on-call work depending on agency requirements.Requirements :
Must meet the minimum experience and training (METs) required for the job. The METs for this position are :
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING : An associate's degree in any information technology field;
or
Two years of experience providing information technology support services involving hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance;
or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
