The Oklahoma City VA Healthcare System (OCVAHCS) is seeking a full-time board-certified (preferred) or board eligible Orthopedic Surgeon physician to serve our veteran population. Our ideal candidate will enjoy clinical practice and teaching and be board certified in surgery. The selected Physician will diagnose and treat patients with injuries and conditions through comprehensive evaluations, diagnostic tests, and medical history assessments. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs, including both surgical and non-surgical interventions. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including neurosurgeons, physical therapists, pain management specialists, and rehabilitation specialists, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients. Provide patient education and counseling regarding their condition, treatment options, and post-operative care to promote informed decision-making and optimal outcomes. Participate in ongoing professional development activities, including attending conferences, seminars, and workshops, to stay abreast of advancements in orthopedic spine surgery and maintain licensure and certification requirements. Additionally, the physician is expected to participate in general orthopedic call schedule, completing patient history and physical examinations, diagnosis, and therapeutic ability, effectiveness in emergencies, patient management, consultation, specialty skills and record keeping. The Surgeon is expected to promote delivery of quality patient care based on current standards in the hospital and is skilled at various related procedures. The candidate should be able to work with our surgery residents from the University of Oklahoma to provide seamless care for the veterans we serve. This position would encourage obtaining affiliation with an academic institution, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Work Schedule Full-time, Monday-Friday 08 : 00-4 : 30pm( Call Schedule included TBD by supervisor) U.S. Citizens receive preference – non-U.S. Citizens may be considered. Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S. Board Certified in Surgery is preferred, but Board Eligibility may also be considered. The starting pay is $325,000- $400,000 per year. A recruitment incentive will be offered, and there is the potential for an annual performance bonus of up to $15,000.
