Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Wound Care role in the ICU, requiring proficiency in pressure injury assessment and management and an active NJ or compact license.
Responsibilities
Provide wound care in an ICU setting, supporting critically ill patients including those with open heart surgeries and transplantsFocus on preventing and managing pressure injuries among ICU patientsWork day shifts, Monday to Friday, 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 30 PMUse of EPIC for electronic charting is requiredMaintain patient documentation and pressure injury metrics using ExcelFloating required within skillset according to census and staffing needsPatient ratios are assigned based on acuity when floatedResponsible for validating staging, assessments, documentation, and treatment of pressure injuriesCollaboration with primary nurses and educators on wound care plansRole emphasizes reduction and prevention of pressure injuriesNo patient handoff required at end of shift; flexibility with end times based on documentation and unit needsLocal candidates and first-time travelers are acceptedMust work at least two of three major holidaysReturn staff must have a minimum one-year break from previous employment in the health systemScrubs are required in accordance with hospital dress codeRequirements
Active NJ or Compact RN license required at the time of considerationBasic Life Support (BLS) certification requiredICU or acute care experience is requiredProficiency in pressure injury assessment, management, and treatmentExperience with wound care certification (WCN or WOCN) is highly preferredAbility to document and track pressure injuries using ExcelCompletion of all required modules, including 4 hours of EPIC training, prior to startBenefits
