Position Summary
As a Produce Department Lead you will drive sales in your area and supervise your team of hourly associates to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will model expertise in Produce and work collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the total club meets the member's expectations.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership : Supervises the team in Produce and Floral area to deliver on the business plan and contribute to the overall success of the club; communicates the goals of the department; executes company programs; adheres to policies; advocates for the member, the associate, and the company; collaborates with other team leaders to meet member expectations.
- Expertise : Maintains in-depth knowledge of on-the-floor and backroom operations; ensures the produce area meets company standards for quality, inventory, production, sanitation, equipment usage, safety, and compliance; manages seasonality in item volume, product knowledge, processes, and prioritizes time between areas; shares knowledge and trains the team.
- Technology : Leverages digital tools to plan for and drive sales, improves the shopping experience, and elevates associate engagement; uses handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality; adopts new tools and encourages others to use them.
- Operations : Drives business results with a commitment to operational excellence; maintains a neat, clean, and safe work area for the team and members; maintains adequate staffing levels; ensures accurate audits and compliance; produces and displays merchandise according to layout plans; models commitment to member service.
- Talent Development : Teaches and trains the team to be highly effective; identifies potential and develops necessary skills; encourages career growth and sources new talent internally and externally to join the team.
- Process Improvement : Develops, communicates, and implements processes to meet business needs; collaborates with managers, coworkers, customers, and partners; analyzes information from multiple sources; monitors progress; identifies and addresses improvement opportunities.
