Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Transporter, you will transport patients to and from departments throughout the facility in a safe and efficient manner. You will assure the highest degree of quality performance and patient care is delivered to neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients according to their physical needs and limitations. What you will do in this role :

• Transport patients by ambulation, wheelchair, or stretcher as directed and dependent upon condition of patient.
• Maintain IV tubing and / or Foley catheter, in a safe position during transport.
• Inventory all transportation equipment at the end of each shift.
• Instruct and assist patients concerning proper gown or apparel for radiographic procedures they are to receive.
• Manage moving of patient support devices such as IVAC pumps, oxygen, etc. and maintains integrity of the above as well as all lines, leads, etc. attached to the patient.
• Work as a team player and meet the needs of the transport team.
