NPI Materials Program Manager
Meta Reality Labs is seeking a NPI Materials Program Manager to support material strategy, managing material budget, driving material readiness, and mitigating material E&O throughout the NPI product life cycle. You will lead pre-production material planning, forecasting, and supply readiness to enable new product development and supply qualification for all Reality Labs products from POC through DVT.
NPI Materials Program Manager Responsibilities
- Support overall NPI Build readiness and CTB by collaborating with cross-functional teams (ie. TPM, EE, GSM, PD, PCE, OPM) and Contract Manufacturers on material drive, component shortages, and supply solutions that mitigate risk and provide shortage recovery.
- Collaborate with Contract Manufacturers, Engineering, PCE, and GSM to assess sourcing opportunities (multiple source, alternate source, multiple flow / site), along with driving cross-functional Risk Buy approval and procurement kick off.
- Partner with Hardware Engineering and Contract Manufacturing partners to develop a configuration plan that both qualifies supply and streamlines manufacturing setup.
- Track NPI material spend against the Engineering budget and mitigate against E&O throughout the overall PDP cycle.
- Run regular CTB reviews to drive closing material shortages with GSM, Planning, OPM and Quality teams.
- Manage the day to day execution with external partners such as Contract Manufacturers and distributors, and act as escalation for urgent and critical issues.
- Manage supply chain transition from engineering to volume production, tracking BOM release timeline, driving closure on component attribute details for CBOM with cross-functional teams and GSM, sustaining MPM, and coordinating all Golden Config requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of material management, supply chain, or purchasing experience in a high-volume hardware industry.Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical approach in handling complexity of multiple manufacturing sites.Understanding of Engineering component matrices to drive qualification.Experience working in and managing high volume consumer electronics product launches and delivery.Track record of building relationships and driving alignment and collaboration with cross-functional teams internally and externally.Experience in self-developing data models or partnering with IT teams to design and scale tools and systems for efficiency improvement.Preferred Qualifications
Problem-solving foundation to influence and drive decisions with data such as experience with advanced modeling and predictive analytics with an understanding of Excel techniques and VBA, SQL, Tableau, or similar data visualization.Experience within complex supply chains and prior OEM / ODM / JDM management experience.Demonstrated experience communicating and creating presentations for Leadership.BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing and Operations Engineering or equivalent experience.$92,000 / year to $137,000 / year + bonus + equity + benefits
