Position : Support Specialist

In this role, you will provide person-centered support to an individual in a 2 : 1 staffing setting, working alongside another Direct Support Professional. The participant enjoys spending time in the community and has a strong interest in the ocean. You will assist in promoting community integration, enhancing social and communication skills, and encouraging meaningful engagement through various activities.

Your responsibilities will include :

  • Personal assistance support : Helping with daily activities like eating, mobility, personal hygiene, medication and more
  • Community integration : Promoting social opportunities and community involvement
  • Building meaningful relationships : Creating a strong rapport with the participant and their support circle
  • Empowering independence : Encouraging self-determination and fostering growth

What You'll Bring :

We are looking for candidates who are motivated to make a positive difference in the lives of others. While prior experience is a plus, we will train the right person !

  • High school diploma or GED (Skills evaluation available if you don't have this qualification)
  • Must be 18 or older
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Reliable transportation and clean driving record
  • TB clearance (Full Life will assist with obtaining it)
  • Experience in caregiving or special needs is preferred but not required
