Senior Cloud Architect

Nava is transforming the way government interacts with and serves its citizens. We are seeking a dynamic Senior Cloud Architect to help us tackle large-scale government initiatives.

In this role, you will collaborate with the Nava team and our partners to design long-term, scalable solutions addressing crucial issues that affect millions of Americans. You have the flexibility to work remotely or from one of Nava's offices in DC, SF, or NYC.

Opportunities and Challenges

As you navigate the government ecosystem, you will often work alongside other contractors and civil servants. Adapting to various working styles and cultural norms will be essential. Being part of a larger team enables us to deliver complex projects while managing the inherent bureaucracy that comes with government work.

Our mission focuses on improving software development processes within a regulated environment, which may slow the production path. However, you will play a critical role in enhancing how government software is built, providing high-leverage support beyond just coding.

Your work will involve legacy systems, balancing the need for modern solutions while integrating with existing frameworks. You will need to conduct software archaeology to understand and replicate system behaviors despite inadequate documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the overall cloud architecture for CMS and guide project teams in implementation.
• Serve as the primary cloud representative for stakeholders, detailing the service catalog and product roadmap.
• Identify and guide government programs toward successful outcomes by recognizing technical and contracting trends.
• Discover new tools, technologies, and processes to enhance the CMS Cloud platform.
• Proactively manage and mitigate technology-related risks with stakeholders.
• Generate buy-in for engineering initiatives with teams and government partners.
• Coordinate with project management to prioritize cloud implementations and project roadmaps.
• Establish technical and implementation standards across engineering teams.
