Job Overview
Full‑time position located in the Greater Chicago Area. Compensation ranges from $21.00 to $24.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
Hire, train, and develop at least two store team members.Create and maintain store staff schedules.Coach and lead team members to provide exceptional guest experiences and achieve sales goals.Exercise discretionary authority, prepare reports, and hold self and team accountable for performance measures and execution of organizational initiatives.Foster an environment of kindness and empathy toward pets and pet parents.Consistently communicate the company’s commitment to holistic pet wellness.Deliver an exceptional customer experience.Manage overall store operations.Share product knowledge and suggestions to fit customer needs and promote pet health.Perform front‑end duties such as operating the cash register, bagging, replenishing merchandise, and preparing displays.Oversee all aspects of inventory, including merchandise replenishment, inventory management, adjustments, weekly cycle counts, store transfers, RTVs, and shipment processing.Organize special store events and promotions in the store.Complete any other assignments delegated by the Retail Management Team.Qualifications
Must be 18 years or older.Passion for extraordinary customer service and the well‑being of pets.Minimum two years of professional retail sales experience.Minimum one year of professional managerial experience.Budget and P&L management experience preferred.Willingness to be educated about the products and services offered.Demonstrated ability to meet sales targets.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend shifts.Strong time management and organizational skills.Physical Demands
Position requires working both indoors and outdoors (to assist with customer carry‑outs).Must be able to stand eight hours per day with or without reasonable accommodation.Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly with or without reasonable accommodation.Must be comfortable working with a wide variety of animals, including small and large dogs.Must be able to work around pet hair and dander.Benefits
