ASSISTANT CONTROLLER

Location : Austell, GA

Pay : $120k - $125k, plus great benefitsPosition

Type : Full-time, permanent position

Our team at The Recruiting Pros is conducting a high-priority search for a talented Assistant Controller on behalf of a well-established and growing retailer and distributor of consumer products located in Austell, GA. You will assist with the creation and management of accounting, auditing and budgeting within the organization, provide reports that specify and compare factors that affect costs, prices and profitability of products and make recommendations to improve yields, reduce costs, and increase efficiencies. In this newly created role, you will add a level of oversight to the financial team and assist the Controller in identifying opportunities to improve the organization’s overall financial health. To be successful in this position you must have working knowledge of NetSuite.

NOTE : This position is hybrid – four days onsite and one day remote; you can be located in or near Austell, GA

Routine responsibilities will require you to :

• Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on cost and profitability.
• Analyze actual manufacturing and production costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs; make estimates of new and proposed product costs as well.
• Prepare actual vs. plan (budget) analysis and various financial analysis related to manufacturing costs, inventory, and expense information.
• Create and prepare analytics to measure product and customer profitability and other related financial on a monthly, quarterly, yearly and as needed basis.
• Lead the monthly accounting close process to ensure accurate, timely completion; goal is to bring preliminary close to 95%
• Prepare financial statements including P&L’s and budgets to summarize and forecast the company’s financial status and assist department managers with the understanding and use of budgeting tools.
• Produce and manage balance sheets and analyze future earnings and expenses.
• Assist with billing and tax documentation preparation; maintain oversight of all business and financial compliance filings, including state sales tax reporting.
• Reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances; identify solutions to discrepancies in financial records.
• Ensure compliance with and prepares reports according to applicable government regulations.
• Review, evaluate, improve, and implement internal controls and processes.
• Maintain and keep current a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage daily treasury functions and maintain updated 13-week cash forecasts.
• Manage external auditor relationships to facilitate completion of annual audit procedures in a timely and efficient manner.
• Monitor expenses, identify waste, and recommend improvements.
• Ensure all accounting practices are in compliance with legal guidelines and established accounting principles
• Work with the company financial team and management to create internal controls and policies.
• Collaborating with the IT department to maintain financial records and system processes.
• Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
