The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai affiliated with New York City Health and Hospitals / Elmhurst has an exciting opportunity for a House Physician with experience in Cardiology or Critical Care, to join our CICU team and provide care in our 9 bed CICU and 6 bed Cardiac stepdown unit. This is a nocturnal only position.The hospital is easily accessible by public transportation and car from all areas of New York City, New Jersey and Long Island.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced care for patients with acute cardiac conditions, including ACS, cardiogenic shock, arrhythmia, advanced heart failure, post-MI care under the supervision of an attending cardiologist.
• Perform and document comprehensive history and physical examinations.
• Order, interpret and act on diagnostic studies and laboratory tests.
• Perform ICU procedures (central venous catheter placement, arterial line placement, etc.) as credentialed.
• Participate in multidisciplinary care planning.
• Collaborate with cardiology fellows, residents, nurses, and ancillary staff.
• Support quality improvement, education, and research activities within the CICU.
• Provide patient / family education and discharge planning.

Qualifications

Compensation range from 84k to 84k (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits).
