Description :
Department : Respiratory Therapy.
BLS, ACLS, RRT required.
NRP and PALS preferred.
Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of affiliated facilities.
Driver's license required at the time of submission.
Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care.
Refusal to remove artificial nails will lead to termination of the contract.
The patient population includes neonates, pediatrics, and geriatrics.
The department covers inpatient areas across all floors.
Experience with EKGs, bedside bronchoscopy, and bedside spirometry is essential.
There is a Hospitalist or Intensivist available 24 / 7.
A Lead Therapist is present on each shift.
The traveler will not be the only Respiratory Therapist in-house.
Equipment used includes Drager, Servo I, Carefusion for ventilators, Vision, V60, V30 for Bipap, and Airvo2 for high flow.
Shifts are scheduled from 7 AM to 7 PM, utilizing team scheduling.
Weekend requirements involve every third weekend for days and every other for nights.
Holiday requirements will be rotated among permanent staff.
Floating to different areas throughout the hospital in the Respiratory Therapist capacity may be required.
Orientation consists of three 12-hour shifts.
The department offers diverse patient care experiences daily.
Teamwork among Respiratory Therapists, providers, and nursing staff is emphasized.
Successful attributes for a Respiratory Therapist in this role include time management skills, flexibility, adaptability, communication abilities, teamwork, and a willingness to learn.
Requests for time off need to be submitted upfront.
Additional time off requests will not be approved.
The cancellation policy allows for the hospital to cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment.
The charting system used is EPIC.
This position is in an acute care setting within an allied health division.
