Temporary Senior Engineer, Technology Operations Center
Join us as a Temporary Senior Engineer for a nine?month assignment within our Digital Nexus technology organization in the Technology Operations Center. This is a hybrid work opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Monitor infrastructure, applications, and network systems using enterprise tools (for example : ServiceNow, SolarWinds, SCOM, Uptrends, Squaredup); respond to alerts and incidents, perform initial triage, and escalate as necessary.
- Maintain situational awareness of the IT environment, provide real?time updates to stakeholders, collaborate with support teams to resolve issues and restore services quickly; participate in shift rotations to provide 24 / 7 coverage.
- Support change enablement activities and ensure proper validation and communication; generate and distribute operational reports and metrics.
- Continuously improve monitoring and alerting capabilities; engage appropriate engineering disciplines or external vendors as required to achieve resolution.
- Use standard runbooks to mitigate or resolve incidents and support requests, track incidents from inception to resolution including root cause analysis; support continuous improvement of internal processes.
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMGs respectful and courteous work environment.
Qualifications
Minimum three years of recent experience in IT operations, NOC / TOC, or systems monitoring.Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university is preferred; minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required. Certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA Network+, or similar are a plus.Experience supporting technologies such as IIS, VMware, Network, Cisco routers / switches, Palo Alto Firewalls; proven experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure) is a plus.Knowledge of monitoring platforms and analysis applications such as ServiceNow, SolarWinds, SCOM, Uptrends, Squaredup; some familiarity with databases such as SQL and Oracle servers is a plus.Ability to work under pressure in a fast?paced environment; keen attention to detail and willingness to learn; strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.Excellent verbal / written communication, problem?solving, organizational and independent judgment skills to support an environment driven by customer service and teamwork; capability to build productive relationships with peers.Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment?based visa sponsorship now or in the future; KPMG LLP will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work visa status for this opportunity (no sponsorship is available for H?1B, L?1, TN, O?1, E?3, H?1B1, F?1, J?1, OPT, CPT or any other employment?based visa).Benefits
