Job description

Job Opportunity: Woodworker

A client of ours located in Tigard is looking for an experienced Woodworker. The ideal candidate for this position should have skilled carpentry techniques using saws, routers, pneumatic nail & staple guns, gluing and lamination, as well as various power and hand-held tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Build cabinets independently with precision and efficiency, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship.
  • Read and interpret detailed work orders and blueprints provided by the supervisor.
  • Work with wood, plastic, metal, plywood, MDF, laminate, veneer, and acrylic to create finished products.
  • Lay and properly file Formica or other laminates with precision.
  • Apply veneer accurately, ensuring seamless and high-quality finishes.
  • Operate saws, drills, routers, sanders, and other power tools safely and effectively.
  • Inspect finished products for accuracy and durability, ensuring all work meets company standards.
  • Keep workstations, tools, and equipment clean and in good condition.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, assisting other departments when needed.

Requirements:
  • Must have hands-on experience in cabinet making—hobbyists will not be considered.
  • Strong skills in laying and filing laminates (e.g., Formica) and applying veneer.
  • Background in construction or experience using hand and power tools, including pneumatic nailers and electric tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
  • Strong focus on precision and quality control.
  • Willing to take direction, adapt to work requirements, and assist other departments as needed.
  • Proactive approach to tasks and ability to work independently.

Schedule: Monday – Thursday or Tuesday – Friday, 6AM – 4:30PM
Pay: $25/hr. DOE

Duration: This is a temp-to-hire position.
