Overview

The Sr. Avionics Engineer is responsible for the engineering data, instructions, documents, and technical support that, within budgetary and regulatory constraints, ensure the safety, airworthiness, and reliability of Atlas Air aircraft within the following ATA chapter subjects : 22, 23, 24, 31, 33, 34, 45, 46, 47, 77.

Responsibilities

Major Job Accountabilities :

Provide guidance to Aircraft Avionics Engineering Manager and stakeholders on issues in safety, airworthiness, and reliability of Atlas Air aircraft.

• Create instructions (Engineering Orders) and various other technical documents to economically support operations and return aircraft to service in a safe, airworthy, and timely manner.
• Develop and / or obtain approved data, acceptable data, and Alternate Methods of Compliance (AMOCs) for repairs, alterations, and modifications.
• Work with maintenance team(s), creating Action Plans to isolate, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft anomalies in the respective ATAs during AOG events. Includes support of chronic and repeat items.
• Update technical source documents as applicable to insure accuracy (AMMs, WDMs, FIMs, etc.)
• Support integration and phase-in of new and previously operated aircraft to meet Atlas requirements.
• Liaise with manufacturers; maintenance representatives, repair & overhaul (MRO) facilities; internal / external engineering departments; regulatory personnel; and other outside agencies.
• Participate in industry working groups, industry steering committees, industry meetings, and conferences.
• Review and extract information from the work of consultants, contractors, and MRO avionics engineers relating to safety, airworthiness, and reliability of Atlas Air aircraft.

Salary Range : $90,000 - $129,000

Financial offer within the stated range will be based on multiple factors to include but not limited to location, relevant experience / level and skillset.
