Senior Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Andover, Massachusetts. This role involves handling high-volume transaction reconciliations, analyzing financial discrepancies, and supporting various accounting functions. Responsibilities :

Reconcile daily cash and credit card transactions, ensuring accuracy within large volumes of data.

Perform detailed account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies using advanced analytical skills.

Utilize accounting software, including Great Plains and Dynamics, to manage financial data and processes.

Apply advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables and data analysis tools to streamline workflows.

Collaborate closely with the Accounting Manager and contract accountants to execute tasks and provide support.

Identify areas for process improvement within manual accounting workflows and propose updates.

Assist with month-end close procedures, including journal entries and general ledger maintenance.

Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure compliance with established accounting standards.

Provide general support to the accounting department as needed, addressing ad hoc tasks and challenges.

Requirements :

Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field.

Proven ability to work with large datasets and perform accurate reconciliations.

Proficiency in accounting software, preferably Great Plains and Dynamics.

Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis capabilities.

Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail to identify and resolve discrepancies.

Experience with month-end close processes and general ledger management.

Ability to handle high-volume transactions with efficiency and accuracy.

Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability to dynamic tasks.
