American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry Post-Intervention position requiring trauma level 1 experience and night shifts.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Located in an acute care setting on a Cardiac Telemetry Post-Intervention unit with 18 bedsPatient population includes post-cath lab / interventional procedure patients as well as those with chest pain, acute coronary syndrome, and congestive heart failureNurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 3 with support from nurse aides and a charge nurseUses Cerner EMR system; prior experience with Cerner is required12-hour night shifts (7p-7a) with a minimum of 4 weekend shifts every 4 weeks and potential holiday coverage as neededFloating required to other Tele / MedSurg units as neededOrientation includes two floor-specific shifts and a SIMs lab pass / fail assessmentBiPAP used on the unit and SWAT RN available for difficult IV accessResponsibilities include providing post-intervention cardiac care and monitoring telemetry patientsTeam includes nurse aides, charge nurse who may take patients, and 24 / 7 pharmacy and respiratory therapy supportDress code requires navy scrubs and compliance with facility appearance standards including natural hair color and no facial piercingsMen must be clean-shaven for fit testingNo first-time travelers or candidates employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year will be consideredHoliday and weekend shifts are scheduled based on unit needsTravelers are required to have their own vehicle\n \n Requirements\n
Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not acceptedCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications requiredMinimum two years recent RN experience, including level 1 trauma experienceAbility to interpret telemetry and manage dysrhythmiasMust pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (two attempts permitted)Must successfully complete a SIMs lab skills test on Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes on day 1 of orientationPrior experience with Cerner EMR requiredMust reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as verified by driver's licenseMust provide two professional references, including a supervisor from the last 12 months and a peer or supervisor from the last 3 years\n Benefits\n
