Who we are and what we do :

The Tennessee Department of Correction operates and oversees 14 adult prisons across the state, housing some 21,000 offenders. In the community, TDOC supervises 79,000 offenders on probation, parole, or community corrections. The department operates 44 probation / parole offices in 13 districts across the state. The Tennessee Department of Correction operates safe and secure facilities and provides effective community supervision in support of successful reentry.

The Tennessee Department of Correction is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Contracting and Procurement Specialist to support and manage a wide range of procurement and contracting activities. This role is essential to ensuring the departments procurement processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with state policies and procedures.

Job Overview :

The Tennessee Department of Correction is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Contracting and Procurement Specialist to support and manage a wide range of procurement and contracting activities. This role is essential to ensuring the departments procurement processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with state policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop, draft, and manage solicitations including Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Invitations to Bid (ITBs), and Requests for Information (RFIs)
• Coordinate and facilitate evaluation committees and scoring processes for competitive solicitations
• Draft and prepare purchase orders and contract documents for all awarded contracts
• Process requisitions and procurement requests for all TDOC divisions
• Communicate with vendors regarding contract terms, amendments, and compliance-both verbally and in writing
• Submit Rule Exception Requests and ensure proper documentation is maintained
• Prepare and submit Fiscal Review Committee documentation and support materials
• Monitor contract performance and assist with renewals, extensions, and closeouts
• Ensure compliance with state procurement laws, rules, and internal policies
• Utilize the Edison system for procurement transactions, contract management, and reporting
• Perform additional contract and procurement-related duties as assigned
