Overview

The Job in a Nutshell : The Produce Assistant is responsible for assisting the Produce Manager in the successful operation and profitability of the produce department. Applications are accepted by the date below, which may be updated if the hiring timeline is extended. Deadline : 08 / 05 / 2025

Responsibilities

Main Ingredients :

• Providing world-class customer service as a top priority.
• Exemplifying integrity, responsibility, and excellence, and adhering to all policies.
• Creating an inviting, full, and shopable produce department.
• Assisting in ordering and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
• Managing department margin, COGs, and profitability, including minimizing shrink and maximizing purchasing efficiency.
• Maintaining the department daily, ensuring produce is fresh, full, and abundant.
• Culling, crisping, rotating, and properly handling / storing produce.
• Ordering and receiving only certified organic produce.
• Ensuring all products and conditions meet company standards.
• Cleaning tools and equipment per health and company standards.
• Receiving produce orders and offering follow-up on special orders.
• Training and monitoring department personnel.
• Conducting demos and working with management on performance issues.
• Handling register functions, including backup cashiering, returns, customer complaints, and shift changes.
• Maintaining safety and security for customers and employees.
• Responding to customer questions and increasing product knowledge.
• Utilizing email and information systems as needed.
• Completing DSR and cash processes if needed.
• Working a schedule based on store needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, totaling 40 hours / week with mandatory meetings.
• This position has limited Manager on Duty functions but is not the overall Manager on Duty.
