NOTICE OF VACANCIES
ENGINEERING CO-OP / INTERN
(Summer 2026 openings will be in the Engineering Department and Power System Operations Department)
1. Minimum Certification Requirements
Must be enrolled in an accredited institution and completed at least one year toward a bachelor's degree.
No experience is required.
2. Examples of Duties and Responsibilities
a. Assist engineers in preparing technical drawings, reports, and documentation using tools such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
b. Support data collection and analysis for engineering designs and studies, including power quality, load forecasting, system reliability, and overhead / underground line design..
c. Assist in preparing cost estimates and materials lists for small-scale projects or customer service requests.
d. Help update and maintain engineering databases, spreadsheets, and internal engineering tools.
e. Support basic troubleshooting and testing activities including equipment setup and data logging.
f. Learn and apply basic SCADA, OMS, or smart metering concepts through guided tasks and mentorship.
g. Shadow engineers during field inspections of electrical infrastructure, substations, and construction sites to learn safety and operational procedures.
h. Participate in training activities to build familiarity with NES standards, codes (IEEE, NESC, etc.), and standard utility engineering practices.
i. Attend project meetings and take notes to support coordination between engineering, operations, and external stakeholders.
3. Working Conditions
The working environment of this job includes physical surroundings that are good. There may be occasional exposure to elements such as noise, dust, heat or other undesirable elements. This job demands light physical effort. Occasionally moves or lifts light objects. May walk or stand for prolonged periods. May require prolonged machine operation including keyboard equipment.
4. Special Licensing and Certification
Must have a valid Class D driver's license from state of residence in accordance with state law.

Completed 1 year of college $27.00
