Position Summary

As an Industrial Facilities Engineer, you will play a key role in designing efficient workflows and optimizing facility layouts to support operational excellence. This position directly contributes to the scalability and performance of our state-of-the-art outsourcing facility, ensuring it meets the evolving demands of pharmaceutical manufacturing. Through innovative problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement, you will help advance Empower Pharmacy's mission to expand access to quality, affordable medication.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Optimizes facility layouts, workflows, and process flows across manufacturing, packaging, and cleanroom environments to maximize productivity, safety, and compliance.
  • Leads data-driven analysis to identify inefficiencies in space utilization, material handling, and operational throughput, and develops actionable recommendations to enhance performance.
  • Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Maintenance to ensure facility design and improvements align with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) standards.
  • Manages and implements continuous improvement initiatives related to space planning, energy efficiency, and equipment utilization to support long-term operational scalability within the New Jersey site.
  • Develops standard operating procedures, manages maintenance work orders, and maintains compliant documentation, models, and layouts in accordance with FDA and cGMP standards.

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Exhibits strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and collaboration, driving process improvements in a team-focused environment.
  • Proficiency in facility design, regulatory compliance, lean manufacturing or Six Sigma practices, and Microsoft Office tools; AutoCAD experience preferred.

  • Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience applying industrial engineering principles within regulated manufacturing environments required, preferably in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare facility operations.
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field.
