Job Details :

• Work 12-hour shifts : 7 : 00 AM to 7 : 00 PM or 7 : 30 PM to 7 : 30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement : Friday and Saturday for nights, Saturday and Sunday for day shift
• Holiday rotation to distribute holidays fairly
• Patient ratios of 1 : 5-6 in 30-bed unit (three 10-bed units)
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam within two attempts with 80% score prior to signing contract
• Required certifications : BLS and ACLS
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Care for medical-surgical telemetry and progressive care unit patients
• Common patient types include surgical patients (hip / knee replacements, bowel resections, hysterectomies), medical patients (MRSA, C-diff infections, COPD, pneumonia), and telemetry patients with chest pain
• Float to Multi Care Unit, Pediatric unit for adult MST patients, and West Campus MedSurg Tele
• May be required to precept nursing students
• Care for stable C-PAP or Bi-PAP patients
• Charting system : Cerner
• Scrub color : any color except camouflage
• Standby rotation for low census situations
• Minimum 1 year medical-surgical experience required, telemetry experience preferred
• 4 shifts cancellation policy per contract (3 shifts if contract under 13 weeks)
