Facilities Maintenance Technician
This position is part of the staff for the 116th Air Control Wing, 116th Civil Engineering Facilities Maintenance Section at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. The purpose of this position is to provide maintenance and repair to facilities.
Structural Maintenance
Under minimal supervision, performs various tasks to inspect, maintain, and repair building components including walls, ceilings, floors, doors, windows, and roofing systems. Perform carpentry, drywall installation and finishing, painting, and minor masonry work. Assist with renovations, space modifications, and facility upgrades. Operate and maintain tools and equipment related to structural repairs. Collaborate with other trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) during integrated maintenance projects.
Locksmithing Duties
Install, repair, and maintain locks, door hardware, panic bars, and access control systems. Rekey locks and cut new keys as needed. Respond to lockouts and security-related service calls. Maintain inventory of lock components and key blanks. Ensure compliance with institutional security protocols and key control policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency in carpentry, general building maintenance, and locksmithing techniques. Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics. Familiarity with safety codes, ADA regulations, and building standards. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational training or certification in building trades or locksmithing preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience in structural maintenance and locksmithing.
