What You’ve Accomplished

Completion of a High School diploma or equivalent

At least 7 years of directly related experience

Advanced knowledge of commonly used concepts, standards and equipment

Technical experience with equipment, processes and control systems used in plants

Knowledgeable of project engineering practices and selected electrical, mechanical and chemical equipment applications, equipment and processes

Ability to generate CAD drawings, if applicable and using standard software

May require familiarity with corporate drafting standards

Ability to interpret drawings

Familiarity with codes and standards pertaining to the applicable discipline

Advanced communication skills to comprehend, follow direction and convey detailed technical data

Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships and work collaboratively within a team environment

Previous experience with characterization and non-destructive assay of radiological waste

Previous experience in radiological and chemical waste handling and packaging

Knowledge of shipping hazardous and / or radiological waste a plus

Ability to train operations and waste handling staff

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

As an Engineering Aide in Richland, WA, you will be part of the proven team in the Fuel Business Unit. Your work will include :

Developing and maintaining the radioactive and hazardous waste databases to manifest and track waste inventories within established databases

Developing and revising Support and Waste Processing operations Management Control Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, Standard Work Instructions, and Operator Aids

Submitting purchase requests and reservations to order and coordinate the receipt of bulk chemicals, DOT compliant packaging, UN Specification packaging, and miscellaneous supplies

Instrumental in development and implementation of the Framatome quality program as it pertains to the disposal of low level radioactive and mixed waste

Working with Department of Transportation regulations (Title 49 Parts 100 to 177 / Parts 178 to 199)

Working with Washington State Department of Ecology Dangerous Waste Regulations (Chapter 173-303 WAC)

Framatome’s Richland, WA facility is a licensed nuclear fuel manufacturing site and complies with US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and US Department of Energy (DOE) regulations. Your Total Rewards Package

The range of base salary for the position is between $37.10 - $48.70 per hour, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
