Plumbing Plans Examiner

The City of Sunrise is seeking a Plumbing Plans Examiner. This position offers a salary range of $88,865.61 to $125,565.05 annually and is located in Sunrise, FL. The job is full-time and the job number is 2025-039.

The nature of work involves reviewing plumbing plans to ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code, City of Sunrise Ordinances, and other applicable codes. Essential job functions include plan reviews of buildings and structures, field inspections of plumbing components, and enforcement of the Florida Building Code.

Education requirements include graduation from an accredited high school or a GED equivalency diploma. Licenses and experience must include being certified by Broward County Board of Rules and Appeals (BORA) as a Plumbing Plans Examiner and meeting at least one of the following qualifications : being an Engineer in the discipline requested and having practiced for a minimum of five years within the State of Florida or being a Standard Plumbing Inspector serving for one year for an AHJ or school board within the State of Florida and complying with the requirements to be certified by BORA as a Plumbing Inspector.

Physical requirements include sufficient strength and agility to permit lifting, kneeling, bending, reaching, and climbing. Sensory requirements include the ability to perceive and differentiate visual cues, communicate orally and in writing, and adapt to frequent changes in workload.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include thorough knowledge of plumbing inspections, procedures, and practices, the Florida Building Code, and general construction methods. Effective communication, report preparation, and the ability to manage multiple assignments are also required.
